Saucony x MINTED
I’ve been a Minted New York follower for a few years now (they launched 2021). I’ve run with them a few times on Saturday mornings in Central Park sporting their warm hoodie or shorts. Minted has something special going on: they started with a focus on lifestyle and menswear and have gradually transitioned into running. It’s been fun to keep up the brand’s growth through social media and experience their community-building chops first-hand. Seeing some of their pivotal collaborations come to fruition, like this latest one with Saucony, are worth celebrating. I couldn’t pass up this colorway, which is my favorite hue of blue. The aesthetic matches the performance.

Folie à Plusieurs
I always appreciate a good fragrance. Especially one with a good story and under-the-radar like one of my favorites, Henry Rose. I stumbled upon Folie during a weekend excursion to the Lower East Side in Manhattan at Komune, a fashion retailer I’d recommend visiting to discover emerging designers and creatives. Folie use fragrance as a medium to document the works, thoughts and experiences of their artists, inscribing their worlds into aromatic narratives. The one that caught my nose? Post Tenebras Lux, a fragrance in collaboration with filmmaker Carlos Reygadas, with musky, clean notes from a 2012 movie. They describe it as, “an orgy in a sex sauna, where flesh and psyche dissolve in carnal vapor.”

Leisure Centre
Continuing on my tour of Lower East Side Manhattan is my favorite thrift/vintage store, Leisure Centre. These days I’m more excited by a rack of clothes on the street than any department store. It’s also better for Earth. The tiny store is packed with curated pieces that have caught Frank Carson’s eye: vintage designer to everyday basics and really great, affordable, sunglasses. The staff is friendly and I always look forward to their weekend events. Closet sales from people whose clothes you’d actually want and pop-ups where you can bring your denim for repair. If you’re in the area on a Saturday I’d encourage you to check out Chad Senzel’s #Streetrack on Ludlow and Canal. He’s another vintage marvel.

Strength In Numbers, Patrick Gibin
A few steps off the L Train on Morgan Avenue, you might find yourself dancing to sounds of music on any given night coming from behind the gated windows at 56 Bogart Street lofts. Enter Cosmic Arts, Joe Claussell’s legendary space for music, art, and culture. Lose yourself finding jazz, soul, and house music vinyls. A few weeks ago Mother Tongue’s Patrick Gibin took over the space playing tracks from his first album Strength In Numbers. I was able to score an exclusive white label promo and I can’t stop dancing.

La Linda Bakery (Athens, Greece)
I’ve been to Athens maybe a dozen times. Going to have to go up against Maria Menounos for the title of US Ambassador to the Attica region of Greece, which is where Athens is. One of my favorite things about Athens is its gastronomy. Nestled in a quiet corner of Glyfada, one of the many suburbs that make up the Athens Coast (or Riviera), is La Linda. The bakery serves handmade Uruguayan breads and pastries made from local ingredients and without preservatives. They produce homemade jams and work closely with local suppliers to create a seasonal menu. I couldn’t stop going there for breakfast and enjoying their mortadella sandwich, focaccia’s, empanadas, cookies, and more.
